Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is the isomers of linoleic acid,
which occur naturally in human and animal bodies. Many studies
showed that CLA is a potent antioxidant, anti-carcinogen, and
anti-catabolite, as well as a powerful immune system enhancer.
Researches also showed that CLA has features of preventing diabetes,
immune-enhancing, anti-atherogenic and possible anti-osteoporosis
effects. It can also lower cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. It is
especially noticed that CLA can reduce body fat and increase lean
mass. Experiments showed that CLA supplementation in feed of mouse
made body fat of the animal decrease up to 88%, especially decrease
the abdomen fat more significantly. The human study showed that 3.6g
CLA taken daily could bring about an average 20% reduction in body fat.
